Assassin's Creed: Shadows Leaks Ahead of Release, Ubisoft Responds

In an unexpected turn of events, Ubisoft's upcoming title, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, has been leaked nearly a month before its official release date of March 20, 2025. Early physical copies have surfaced, leading to unauthorized gameplay footage and story details circulating online.

Reports indicate that individuals have obtained PlayStation 5 copies of Assassin's Creed: Shadows ahead of schedule. One such individual, Danny Stevens, acquired the game through an online marketplace and shared images, gameplay clips, and his impressions on social media platforms. These posts, now archived on Reddit's r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, showcase game menus, character customisation, boot-up sequences, and combat scenarios. Stevens described the game as reminiscent of Ghost of Tsushima with enhanced stealth mechanics and praised its motion capture quality. 

In light of these leaks, Ubisoft has addressed the situation publicly. The company acknowledged on social media that some players have accessed Assassin's Creed: Shadows ahead of its official release and emphasised that the development team is still working on patches to prepare the experience for launch. They cautioned that "any footage shared online does not represent the final quality of the game."

The gaming community has had mixed reactions to the leak. While some are eager for any information about the upcoming title, others express concern over potential spoilers and the impact on the game's launch. Discussions on platforms like Reddit have highlighted these sentiments, with users debating the implications of such early leaks.
